“ SERENATA”
Our permaculture and arts place
WHAT IS IT?
We are creating a space in line with the principles of sustainability and permaculture.
Our land has 1 hectare of forest and good earth for agriculture, with abundant subsoil water.
At the moment we have a house with a fireplace and all the amenities.
We want to transform the existent structures and create a sustainable space.
Ex:
Change the heating of water for the showers, from gas powered water heaters to the wood burning type.
Add a wood stove
Use gray water, from bathroom and kitchen, for the irrigation of the garden
Storage of rain waters for domestic and garden use.
Water well and reserve. Lake with fishes and purifying plants
Community kitchen and showers heated by solar panels and wood burning water heaters.
Dry toilets
Studio/workshop for arts and recycling of materials
Sacred geometry space with wood floor, for practices such as dance, meditation, etc
Organic, bio-dynamic garden
Some houses integrated into nature, made with local raw material (stone, wood, bamboo, palm tree, etc), for dormitories.
HOW?
In exchange for your help of: a) 3 hours in practice, we offer you community sleeping place or camping with breakfast.
If you want to work: b) more hours we also offer you a supplementary vegetarian meal.
To practice our principles we use only organic local and garden products (for example, we use ash, coco or glicerine soap, olive oil or aloe vera shampoo etc., for cleaning and higiene).
There is every kind of organic product in this area, whether it be for cosmetic, higiene or nutricional purposes, at very good prices.
We ask all our visitors to bring only organic products.
We recycle all garbage that results from our consumption here at home, so we ask you please, not to bring any kind of plastic (bags or bottles). We buy with our own basket and if necessary we ask for paper bags.
We don’t eat meat, we don’t smoke as a habit, and we drink with moderation.
WHERE?
We are located in San Marcos Sierras, Córdoba, Argentina; a very atractive village, surrounded by mountains and rivers. The San Marcos river is 300meters away from us, and the Quilpo river 4 kilometers, a very good option for taking a bath.
San Marcos Sierras is known throughout Argentina as a conscious, ecologic and productive community. There is a wonderfull arts market with different kinds of handcrafts, such as woodwork, tapestry, ceramic and jewelery; there are also therapy, meditation, dance/music centers, and shops of local products, such as honey, marmelade, liquors, olives, olive oil, creams and medicinal plants products.
WHEN?

We can receive you from september to april (spring and summer, sun and rain) in camping or from may to august (winter and autumn, sun and cold) in the 4/5 person dorm.
